COME AND HEAR THE WORD OF GOD WHICH HAS POWER TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE FOREVER
Why church?
Coming to church is something which Christian’s ought to do because firstly God calls us all to not forsake the gathering together of the people.
Hebrews 10:25 states: "not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as ye see the Day approaching."
The physical gathering of the church is being neglected more and more in this era whether because of online platforms, social media, or just other work related distractions.
It is such a blessing to be able to join together as one people, for one purpose to glorify and lift up the name of Jesus.
1) Obedience to god
2) a reflection of god’s kingdom on earth
Jesus said ‘repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. What did He mean? He is saying the Kingdom of God is drawing near and that we must all be prepared to meet the Lord some day. The church is a divine governance which has a key role to play in the last days mission.
God’s Kingdom is in fact advancing, and as the church functions within it’s God given callings and responsibilities we are able to serve God and one another in the manner in which He preordained us to do so. Ephesians 1: 4-5 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, 5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will’.
3) to pray & fellowship with one another
The church is in fact the people, and not the physical building (the ecclesia), and it is therefore the collective people who join together that make up the church.
It is therefore necessary that the church become a ‘spiritual family’ which can pray, encourage and fellowship with one another.
Acts 2: 46 So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart,
4) people can come and give their lives to jesus
Salvation can happen any where, in a house, on the street, in a park, anywhere.. But the benefit of having a church service is that people can come, those who are yet to know the truth of the gospel, and they can be touched and changed by the power of the Word of God. It is our desire that in every service somebody would give their life to Jesus Christ.
"The church is a hospital for sinners, not a museum for saints." – Abigail Van Buren.
